SSDifnskdjfnsdjk commented on Zetanbali's post: is it Millchan merger site or a zerome merger site (hub)? Maybe download 0list.bit site and then search the name on [Zerohello](/) if it finds the topic about the zite.
SSDifnskdjfnsdjk commented on Somename666's post: Did you change anythin in the BIOS (for example HDD controller mode (IDE, AHCI?) Some OSes has grub recovery utility, though maybe there is no problem. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=what+if+linux+not+boot

SSDifnskdjfnsdjk commented on leftside's post: @leftside: you mean it is not good to eat vegetables along with meat? (nitrite vs amine). Regarding trans fat acids (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trans_fat) i think hydrogenation is not used in modern vegetable oils (i was researching on this topic and also asked the company that makes the rapeseed edible oil a few years back). Do you have any link or info on how these trans fat acids can be made accidentaly at home?

SSDifnskdjfnsdjk commented on Jessicajones's post: & anyone knows what is crypt connection of the zeronet?
SSDifnskdjfnsdjk commented on Geekless's post: sounds interesting. so this possible DHT implementation can be in the form of an optional zeronet plugin that aware users can download and use to improve their zeronet peer counts making it unlikely ISP/state censor block most of the trackers? Would it be possible to communicate this to nofish to know under which conditions he is willing to make the plugin enabled by defult?
SSDifnskdjfnsdjk commented on Cosmoteista's post: if something is censored, it may not be worth watching/seeding, censored does not mean truth.
SSDifnskdjfnsdjk commented on Thunder33345's post: @Thunder: Millchan Engine demo hub (discussion board) contains dicussion topic where people list various hubs you can connect to. ssdifnskdjfnsdjk@zeroid.bit commented on Blurhy's post: @blurhy: search engine would be nice (only if it is decentralized and can survive at possible future zeronet conditions), atm ZeroHello search is too slow (hundreds of sites and no SSD) that i have to only search selectively on zerotalk and zerome, else zeronet lags (single threading) for minutes. I am not sure if it is not too much work to create useful decentralized fulltext search for the Zeronet, but if it can be done to be returning search results quickly, then maybe create some simple front-end site where it return raw results, which user can filter entering must include, must exclude words to quickly narrow results, + - operators and full phrases wrapped by quotation marks. SE maybe not need to be that much clever if it is too much work. = Regarding IPFS, maybe IPFS is more useful thing to work on than the search engine (do not know), but if IPFS will help chinese users to use zeronet, then certainly is more priority than the search engine.
ssdifnskdjfnsdjk@zeroid.bit commented on Blurhy's post: **[Blog post translation into english here](https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=zh-CN&tl=en&u=https%3A%2F%2Fblurhy.xyz%2F2019%2F06%2F30%2F统计与分析Horizon爬虫数据%2F&sandbox=1)** (Google translate). [this image](https://blurhy.xyz/images/h2.png) seems to show rough number of zeronet sites that was created during last years! interesting, offcourse blurhy's spider likely not catched all sites, some was not announced..
SSDifnskdjfnsdjk commented on Brianhanson2nd's post: after you modify the site, you have to publish it (i bet you did that. You can drag & drop the corner (0) button of your site to the left, the publishing option it is on the bottom, though zeronet maybe asked you even without need to visit this menu). Also an advantage to connect most peers quickly is if on the top of the [ZeroHello](/) you see Tor: available - you connect both clearnet and tor peers.

ssdifnskdjfnsdjk@zeroid.bit commented on Styromaniac's post: Advantage of a youtube.com is that you find everything under one search field, disadvantage of kopykate clones is that you find very little if the content is spread acros many sites. [Kxovid](/16KrKKRNHUc8WnRNuV9PgNqZQ8zqGteT4p) is good that it using universal merger sites that could be added to any kxovid cl0ne. We can search the connected sites on zerohello, but kopkykate was not programmed to support newsfeed integration. Language filtering can be good (also on other sites like zerome, actualy there is a pull request on the zerome github i think)
ssdifnskdjfnsdjk@zeroid.bit commented on Styromaniac's post: i think that the port status rather depend on firewall/router setup than the speed. if the internet is wired in your house, try to disconnect router and connect your device directly to the wire, that way you can tell if the router was the cause of a closed port. Else disabling firewall on your computer can tell more.

SSDifnskdjfnsdjk commented on Bluishcoder's post: my understanding is that you publish your limit modified file data/content.json to 5 peers (zeronet prompt you upon detecting this file change and does it for you) and then to another 5 peers in background (? - you can see the exact count by watching debug.log - while logging of everything is enabled in zeronet [/Config](/Config))) which means 10 peers, and these 10 each publish to multiple peers. I may be wrong, but i think someone like nofish was writting that thanks to this, the change is spread quite quickly thru peers. I would not say majority of peers is necessary.
SSDifnskdjfnsdjk commented on ssdifnskdjfnsdjk@zeroid.bit's post: @Whitewolf: i think there is some truth in what you say and offcourse as @Realjohndoe: says it is possibly no good to be religious perverts. @Znnex: i do not hate porn in general, just when it is shitted everywhere. I think porn should belong to sites, sections where people must go to find it. Not for it to be shitted everywhere not entitled as such, where everyone including kids can see it. Impact of porn is questionable, people have different opinion. Though i think that people should have the option not to see things that bother them (maybe demoralize them). So while porn lovers add porn in general (offtopic) sites without entitling it as a porn, there is my optional P0rnographyBl0cklist that may come handy for some. I wish zeronet add features which will allow better differentiate wanted/unwanted content on site like zerome and **@nofish: allow users to mute user only in particular site section (hide only from Everyone tab, but keep receiving notifications if user quote me or reply to mine followed post) or mute only on one site, not on whole zeronet (some users post good content on some sites and offending content on other)**

Undestood? > which is false no, it is not as i explained > it never sets boundaries on it yes, maybe it should, but i think people understand the meaning of "open". For example i undertand it like: unrestricted by government (for idiots that do not want to understand - restrictions are there but rather minor when comparing to China for example), without any mechanisms to that allows easy removal of the unwanted content (wide censorship that can be easily abused).

Still corrupted filesystem? close file explorer window and use Windows check disk tool (in drive properties). Once done, maybe try again gracefuly disconnect and connect again. SSDifnskdjfnsdjk commented on Drift's post: You can use [ZeroHello](/) "Search in connected sites" to find relevant sites. There are also [zeronet sites directories](/1TaLkFrMwvbNsooF4ioKAY9EuxTBTjipT/?Topic:1524949682_1L4dZcDF2maSKHDy788yhxpYnBWnXadUtS/ZeroNet+sites+directories).
SSDifnskdjfnsdjk commented on Quantumworld's post: on zeronet, the zerome is a "merger site" which merge together other zeronet sites that are made to work with this particular merger site, these sites are called hubs. [Here](/1Kt7xxVRcxHcK14Mt7YZdXfh8MzUJMkvpk/misc/The.truth.about.ZeroNet/11.%20merger%20sites.txt) is a technical explanation on how these work together. ssdifnskdjfnsdjk@zeroid.bit commented on Julia's post: To find boards on Millchan engine, someone would have to advertise their hub zite address somewhere (either in private or public). Here you can find couple of hubs publicly: 1. http://127.0.0.1:43110/1MiS3ud9JogSQpd1QVmM6ETHRmk5RgJn6E/?/category/merger-zite 2. search for: mill 👍 Millchan Engine hubs are way less often used than classic Millchan currently as the ME is very new and zeronet has low amount of people.

ssdifnskdjfnsdjk@zeroid.bit commented on Julia's post: @Julia: the advantages are described for example [in the leading post where the Millchan Engine is introduced](/1ADQAHsqsie5PBeQhQgjcKmUu3qdPFg6aA/?:users/12NPW6WLFBLVivNGqijcfktARobftfLFAN:dev:1b5f282e-6a57-4aa4-ae11-8b85dda51509). For me i think discussion boards (hub sites) does not relly on single person (merger site owner) so they are more independent. Also people can easily and automatically seed newly added content (images) that was added to the hubs/discussion boards. And hub owners can set own limits on submitted content and user quota. etc. Disadvantage is currently that @mcdev not yet created option to create new hub by a button click and also you have to first visit the hub before you can see its content via merger site (Millchan Engine) which is quite big disadvantage (that the hub site is not loaded automatically).

SSDifnskdjfnsdjk commented on Krixano's post: @Krixano: I would think it would be better if the zite would ask permission to connect external video sites and zeroup when i click the "Video" or "Files" tab, because when it is hidden in Settings, some people just leave the site as "not working"/has nothing interesting to offer except listing Kxoids and a few featured sites i already know. If not possible to do it like that, there can be condition - if no permission, the search results will say: No sites to search, enable some in _Settings_
SSDifnskdjfnsdjk commented on Krixano's post: looks like a handy feature to see user content easily on one page, do you think KxoNetwork will be enough useful to have returning visitors? [SOLVED] If i want to delete some user content on my zite, can i delete his data/users/1baduserdirectory? I tried that and signed content.json and data/users/content.json, but content is still there. I had to rebuld database, but other peers still see his content even they did siteupdate. How to properly delete some user content and publish it? I have to leave this user directory on my site?

Geekless · geekless@zeroid.biton Jul 04, 2019Reply
  1. Manually edit or delete any data in the user's folder data/users/<user_cert_address>.

  2. Open the right ZeroNet bar on your site. Scroll down to the "Content publishing" section. Enter data/users/<user_cert_address>/content.json instead of the default content.json into the edit box. Press Sign and publish.

  3. The user's data will be signed with your master key.

You can delete any user's files, except for data/users/<user_cert_address>/content.json itself.

The only way to wipe data/users/<user_cert_address>/content.json entirely is to ban the user in data/users/content.json.

Blurhy · blurhy@zeroid.biton Jul 04, 2019Reply

Oh, on your site. You can use blacklist in content.json

same.

ZAlex · zalex@zeroid.biton Jun 28, 2019Reply

@leftside: Who is manipulating?
Try to download any old zite from scratch, and the ZeroNet engine will set today's modification date to the files on the disk (because it wrote them today; I checked it). And now look at content.json and data.json of DIY blog - these files have not been changed on our disks for a long time.

Does anyone have older archives with these zites? If we find there a validly signed data.json with a post in the future, then there is no any “manipulation”.

false timestamped disk files are useless

ZeroNet does not retain the original file modification time during transmission between peers. Just check it by yourself, if you don't believe me. There are no any "false timestamped" files, it happens on your PC locally.

leftside · leftside@zeroid.biton Jun 28, 2019Reply

@ZAlex: He's manipulating other person's divine archives and history. What a dumb head.

ZAlex · zalex@zeroid.biton Jun 28, 2019Reply

I think that he manually edited the timestamp of this post to pin it at the top of blog. And now this post from the "future" suddenly appeared in our feed... In addition, the content.json file was last modified in 2018 (this file hasn't been updated on my disk, it is old).

@Whitewolf: i think there is some truth in what you say and offcourse as @Realjohndoe: says it is possibly no good to be religious perverts. I wish zeronet add features which will allow better differentiate wanted/unwanted content on site like zerome and @nofish: allow users to mute user only in particular site section (hide only from Everyone tab, but keep receiving notifications if user quote me or reply to mine followed post) or mute only on one site, not on whole zeronet (some users post good content on some sites and offending content on other)

The (((Jews!))) were required to wear distinctive clothing, patches and markings so as to be easily identified. To warn and protect the general public. Ultimately the (((Jews!))) always became such a toxic infestation that they would eventually have to be driven out. Like plague spreading rats.

Is ironic that they are the seminal vector for the spread of the global AIDS pandemic. Also known as the (((gay plague))).

It's interesting and alarming how similar the (((Jews!))) toxic and malignant countenance in the United States and the west, mirrors the exploitive debt-ridden misery they caused in Germany leading up to the rise of the National Socialist Workers Party, and the German peoples would-be savior, Der Fuhrer! Hitler.

The rampant hunger and homelessness, and sorry plight of the working class. In a world of astronomical excess and plenty. The (((Jew))) effect. The morally repugnant (((Jew!))) system of finance known as Usury. Today called capitalism. The very thing for which God/Jesus cast the (((Jews))) out of the Temple/Church because of.

Yes, all (((Jews!))) should go to Israel. The ovens call out anew. As the Bunker-busting fiery serpents await your entry. Be afraid, be Very! afraid ☠💀😀

ok, the phrase "the boys were playing in the backyard" expresses something that happened. "the boys are playing the in backyard", expresses something that is happening. the articles phrase is not suggesting something that perhaps is true but its expressing that indeed (...)"philosophies were baked into the very architecture of the internet".

correct me if i'm wrong, but that is what i understood by that phrase.

idk man, but this sounds very clear to me, to me it infers that such western philosophies were principled onto the internet architecture, so that "no one can prevent anyone from sending anything to anyone."

which again i provided a link that talks about how the internet upbringing was rather wild than based on freedom. that's all i meant.

SSDifnskdjfnsdjk · ssdifnskdjfnsdjk@zeroid.biton May 21, 2019Reply

useful ≠ bad.

yes, so i said article is not "bad" to me, because it was useful to me. You do not rate something "bad" if you find useful information that make you thinking(is insightful) and confirms what you already know. Undestood?

which is false

no, it is not as i explained

it never sets boundaries on it

yes, maybe it should, but i think people understand the meaning of "open". For example i undertand it like: unrestricted by government (for idiots that do not want to understand - restrictions are there but rather minor when comparing to China for example), without any mechanisms to that allows easy removal of the unwanted content (wide censorship that can be easily abused).

Moor · moor@zeroid.biton May 21, 2019Reply

no, it contains numerous useful information for me

useful ≠ bad.

i do not think so. i think they mean that it is made the way it is not friendly for countries which want to censor/block information

i think the author was very clear when it pointed that it was because of a "western philosophy" to make it like that, which is false and i provided a link that explains how the creation of the internet does not preclude a "western philosophy" of openness.

i think the author was not speaking about bad countries, so i do not understand your comment about this. your aim is quite negative here, find something useful also instead of criticizing everything.

i don't think i can have a positive view about this article, it didn't provide that many links to what Russia and other countries are doing (which is the point of the article), only speculation. there is one document mentioned, which is about liberal democracy vs "authoritarian regimes". the article kinda follows the same idea.

“It’s not about bad countries and good countries – it’s about any country that wants to suppress communications,”

its a very clear statement, it mentions in the above statement that:

“More and more Western countries are being forced to think about what that means, sovereignty on the internet,” says Tack. In the wake of recent election meddling, and the well-documented practice by Russian governments to sow discord on Western social media, Western policymakers woke up to the idea that an open and free internet could actually harm democracy itself, Morgus says. “The parallel rise of populism in the United States and elsewhere, coupled with concerns about the collapse of liberal international order, saw many of the traditional open internet sword-bearers retreat into their shells.”

the consideration that "Open Internet" could be harmful comes only after the innocent realization that now that Russia decided to fight back the liberal agenda the US has to reconsider what "Open Internet" should be.

btw my point about Ross Ulbricht is the wild definition of "Open Internet" in that article, it never sets boundaries on it.

SSDifnskdjfnsdjk · ssdifnskdjfnsdjk@zeroid.biton May 21, 2019Reply

this article is just... bad

i do not think so. i think they mean that it is made the way it is not ideal (no built in mechanism/s) for countries which want to easily censor/block information

not about bad countries and good countries

i think the author was not speaking about bad countries, so i do not understand your comment about this. your aim is quite negative here, find something useful also instead of criticizing everything.

"Open Internet" in this article. i mean, why is Ross Ulbricht rotting in prison?

this is not about openness of the internet, but about being responsible for illegal activities done on one's website

Moor · moor@zeroid.biton May 21, 2019Reply

this article is just... bad.

It’s well known that some countries are unhappy with the Western coalition that has traditionally held sway over internet governance. It’s not just the philosophies espoused by the West that troubles them, but the way those philosophies were baked into the very architecture of the internet, which is rather famously engineered to ensure no one can prevent anyone from sending anything to anyone.

this is false, there was no known philosophy baked into the technology as the articles tries to infer, this is faulty observation from hindsight:
The evolution of the Internet: from military experiment to General Purpose Technology

what bothers me the most is the usage of the term "Open Internet" in this article. i mean, why is Ross Ulbricht rotting in prison?

They found that over the past four years, “digital decider” states – Israel, Singapore, Brazil, Ukraine, and India among others – have drifted increasingly toward a more sovereign and closed approach to information

and then "The reasons for their drift are varied". why is that? why doesn't the article mentions why these countries aren't so very happy with our current awesome western "open internet"?

except that they kinda do that at the end, but with a very different tone:

“More and more Western countries are being forced to think about what that means, sovereignty on the internet,” says Tack. In the wake of recent election meddling, and the well-documented practice by Russian governments to sow discord on Western social media, Western policymakers woke up to the idea that an open and free internet could actually harm democracy itself, Morgus says. “The parallel rise of populism in the United States and elsewhere, coupled with concerns about the collapse of liberal international order, saw many of the traditional open internet sword-bearers retreat into their shells.”

and then:“It’s not about bad countries and good countries – it’s about any country that wants to suppress communications,”

Oh its not so bad when we do it, we are the good guys!

and of course this blogger is so very smart:

Internet protocols specify how all information must be addressed by your computer, in order to be transmitted and routed across the global wires; it’s a bit like how a Windows machine knows it can’t boot up an Apple operating system.

I assume you refer to the bug, that caused millchan to sometimes download images from blacklisted boards. But that aside the you actually are more at risk here on ZeroMe, since avatar images are currently downloaded automatically(required). especially:

  • auto-play whole playlist
  • deleting own video
  • Add video form will detect video name, keywords automatically from the uploaded video name.
  • bulk seed all videos of a user from certain category / playlist
  • auto-seeding new user uploaded videos
KxoBot · kxobot@zeroid.biton Apr 29, 2019Reply

@Desenhoeanime: I don't care about KopyKate Big - I have my own Video Sharing Zite called KxoVid and it already supports playlists to a certain extent. I just need to rewrite the whole thing.

Desenhoeanime · desenhoeanime@zeroid.biton Apr 29, 2019Reply

@KxoBot: playlist you could put for the person to choose the videos that want to create LOCALLY the playlist, because I miss being able to have a playlist to be able to see serials and anime for example, that ends one episode and starts the other.

I believe that if I make a playlist that I create for myself and can share on my channel, it would be a file that would click and call other video links automatically at the end of the video or with the option to give next video, in the case clicking next video would do the same as ending the video, would simply redirect me to the next video, I think they could add this option to the site http://127.0.0.1:43110/big.kopykate.bit

KxoBot · kxobot@zeroid.biton Apr 28, 2019Reply

@SSDifnskdjfnsdjk: I've decided that I don't actually want to do this stuff today, because it's harder than you think.

  • Playlists currently don't have any way to specify the order of the videos. Basically, I need to completely redo how playlists work. Then after that, I'll need to do a dbquery to see if a video is a part of any playlist and provide that as an "up next" thing for the auto-play.
  • Deleting videos requires that the video be deleted from the device and from your channel - but what about people who are already seeding the video? I'm unsure about this - it requires more thinking.
  • I can auto-fill the title from the file name, but that's pretty much it - I can't detect keywords because files don't have keywords (depending on the filesystem you're on) and adding keywords from the title is unnecessary duplication and not needed for searching (searching searches from keywords and title).
  • Bulk Seeding of videos from a user will be a bit complicated because a user's videos are spread out onto different merged zited (categories) - so I'll have to look at all the merged zites you currently have - and I'll have to redo this everytime you download a new merged zite, which also requires storing in the db or localstorage who you are bulk seeding. Bulk Seeding playlists is impossible unless I completely change the structure of how things are stored (I'd have to add new folders per playlist).
SSDifnskdjfnsdjk · ssdifnskdjfnsdjk@zeroid.biton Apr 28, 2019Reply

@KxoBot: i think you know that already - just in case i wanted to mention that ZeroLSTN already has that feature to automatically play all songs in a playlist one by one + auto skip (timeout) those that has no peers. Though maybe you prefer to create the feature yourself instead of locating it in other zite code and reworking it.

KxoBot · kxobot@zeroid.biton Apr 28, 2019Reply

I'll work on some of these things today I think. I know how to do bulk seed all videos of a user from certain category / playlist now, so I can pretty easily get that done. Auto-play whole playlist will take some work, but I think I know how to do that. Deleting own video I'm still thinking about.
.

member states has obligation (based on the agreement/law) to implement the directive, else i bet they can face fines and other bad consequences. Apart from the colours (I prefer dark theme), the only real difference I notice is the text box on the right, and the menu of (external) links on the left.
