Some look great on paper but when used it turns out to be something different. Testing and trial and error is the only way to build something fantastic. Daniell Mesquita commented on Daniell Mesquita's post: @leftside: > Jeremiah 14:14 Then the LORD said to me, “The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I have not sent them or appointed them or spoken to them. They are prophesying to you false visions, divinations, idolatries and the delusions of their own minds. 15 Therefore this is what the LORD says about the prophets who are prophesying in my name: I did not send them, yet they are saying, ‘No sword or famine will touch this land.’ Those same prophets will perish by sword and famine. [Luke 13:34 Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing.](https://www.biblestudytools.com/luke/13-34.html) [Romans 11:3 LORD, they have killed your prophets and torn down your altars. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me, too.](https://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/11-3.html) Thanks to your hunting for blood, that has been written: [Psalm 74:9 We are given no signs from God; no prophets are left, and none of us knows how long this will be.](https://www.biblestudytools.com/psalms/74-9.html) [Matthew 34 Therefore, indeed, I send you prophets, wise men, and scribes: some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city,](https://www.biblestudytools.com/matthew/23-34.html) [Matthew 23:25 "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. 26Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean. 27 "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean. 28 In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness. 29 "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous. 30 And you say, 'If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.'](https://www.biblestudytools.com/matthew/passage/?q=matthew+23:25-30) The good thing of Bible preachers like you is that you all shows that even atheists with a Bible can show that you are all Pharisees. "Those same prophets will perish by sword and famine" This is how the prophet Tiago was killed by perverse people like you, but as Bible says, Earth is not the place of the definitive justice; and you will all receive the justice against your convenient confusions, hates, justice-labeled injustices and murders.
Daniell Mesquita commented on Daniell Mesquita's post: @leftside: > If u have ever read the bible u must have noticed that many were killed by God when they insisted that they're prophets of God even though God had never granted them such a title. > Jesus told his disciples even not to be called a teacher. > Because teachers will be sentenced with a heavier penalty later in the heavenly court. "If u have ever read the bible" I'd read a lot, with discernment; instead of searching for things to use as weapon against people and to justify the own desires. If God killed who insisted to be prophet, He wouldn't kill who insisted that is his Son? That was the justification of Jesus's killers, that also considered him as false prophet. With miracles/signals or just words, what shows the title of a prophet is its listener's faith and God's power of discernment. Jesus said to not call him a teacher, but did he said to not call he a son of God or prophet? That's a shame, because you're using the Bible to justify my death, but as a atheist I'm replying you with the truth of Bible. What God haves against to you isn't my role to say. Today I'd wrote the basis of the Theory of Existence, and I'd began atheist and gave up from my christian faith/writings thanks to people like you

You must have some reason to be protecting yourself so much. > What have you to hide? "Privacy? I always say the same thing to them. I get out a pen, I write down my email address. I say, "Here's my email address. What I want you to do when you get home is email me the passwords to all of your email accounts, not just the nice, respectable work one in your name, but all of them, because I want to be able to just troll through what it is you're doing online, read what I want to read and publish whatever I find interesting. After all, if you're not a bad person, if you're doing nothing wrong, you should have nothing to hide." Not a single person has taken me up on that offer. "You are being watched. A few days ago I'd discovered that Steemit is open-source and runs through an platform that isn't Ethereum: STEEM. But after seeing that their Keyring extension is available just for Chromium and it depends on register/username (and needs to be approved by Steemit team), I knew it is centralized. But after searching about it, I had sure:

https://decentralize.today/the-ugly-truth-behind-steemit-1a525f5e156

There are lots of useful dApps for STEEM, that aren't on Ethereum, but are amazing:
https://www.stateofthedapps.com/dapps/platform/steem?page=1

These dApps (including Steemit), as open-source, could be ported to ZeroNet and Ethereum

@Pexo: Mysterious Light In The Sky https://youtu.be/Ctr5nCsHDgU See explanation below. "infinity+1 power". I like that..✝😁

Pexo · pexo@zeroid.bit ― on Dec 15, 2018Reply

In my point of view:
Religion was necessary in the past to keep a large group of people stable. Nowadays we have a good set of morals and rules, under which we know, that a large number of people can reasonably live. These rules no longer require a magical being of infinite+1 power to keep you from breaking those rules, because the laws and governments, that enforce them, already take that place(a mighty enemy(?) that you cannot overcome).
This holds true for any religion, you have a set of rules to keep a big population of people stable, a set of rules that guarantee the survival of the religion and a set of miscellaneous rules that are often specific to one given religion.

Nekololi · nekololi@zeroid.bit ― on Dec 14, 2018Reply

@Moor: Just mental masturbation. Mar Marx's pseudo-psychology and theoretical political idealism is responsible for over a hundred million deaths, and suffering..👎

Moor · moor@zeroid.bit ― on Dec 13, 2018Reply

To quote Karl Marx:
Religious suffering is, at one and the same time, the expression of real suffering and a protest against real suffering. Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people.

The abolition of religion as the illusory happiness of the people is the demand for their real happiness. To call on them to give up their illusions about their condition is to call on them to give up a condition that requires illusions. The criticism of religion is, therefore, in embryo, the criticism of that vale of tears of which religion is the halo.

Criticism has plucked the imaginary flowers on the chain not in order that man shall continue to bear that chain without fantasy or consolation, but so that he shall throw off the chain and pluck the living flower. The criticism of religion disillusions man, so that he will think, act, and fashion his reality like a man who has discarded his illusions and regained his senses, so that he will move around himself as his own true Sun. Religion is only the illusory Sun which revolves around man as long as he does not revolve around himself.

What makes a project better: competition or contribution?
Read that shit: "tradeoffs between security, privacy, efficiency, bla bla bla bla"...
... I started seeing those fucking "tradeoffs" when looking to buy a smartphone: a thing a smartphone haves, the other doesn't haves, and vice-versa.
It makes it really hard to choose a thing to use, and makes users unhappy.
Why have tradeoffs between those blockchains, if they can create just one project?
Competition or contribution? #COMPETITIONISFORSPORTS
Today, money matters more than a project and the satisfaction of users.

I have an announcement about @Peeper:
This project is paused for now, and when resumed, it will not be based on ZeroMe, but developed from scratch. But it will have compatibility/portability with ZeroMe data.

Problems of ZeroMe:

  • User needs to post only in a hub, and can't reach too much users because it depends if they seed the hub
  • Hubs haves posting limits, instead of making posts as optional files

How will be the new Peeper:

  • Redesign
  • User seeds the category he/she wants, and can post on categories
  • Users are stored on hubs related to countries/languages, but all of them will be organized and promoted on Peeper to have seeds
  • New posts are instantly seeded by users for some enough time to get seeds, and after it they will not be automatically seeded, giving priority to other new posts
  • Peeps haves a maximum character count like Twitter
  • Alongside Peeps, user can do posts, that are metered with word count, to be listed in a section that works like Medium
  • Audios, videos, conversations and quotes will also supported to post
  • User can import data/posts from other social network's zip files, and even ZeroMe (the posts will have a icon about the social network it came)
  • Can ask/answer to users (like Ask.fm)
  • Peeps and questions/answers are threaded, like on Twitter
  • Can react, share and tip peeps/posts/questions/answers
  • A ZeroNet chat will be embed on Peeper
  • Discussion groups/communities
  • Events
  • Profiles can be liked
  • Can post on other's wall
  • Own wall with pinned and organized posts

Funny thing is that, since 2011 projecting Peeper, now there is a project with a similar name and calling the posts as "peeps"!

I know I'm a newbie user, and ZeroNet devs doesn't believes on me; but with Eventlr, creating Peeper from scratch is possible. Also, other newbie users will have possibility to contribute to Peeper using Eventlr.

yes, the user quota limits on hubs and inability to switch hubs is what i think (as a mere user) is one of the biggest problem that i found on ZeroMe. Also the question on how/if/when user can reach all ther users posts is something i am uncertain about. Chat and private messages between users is also what i am missing there. Another important thing is ability to filter posts which majority is not in english, there already is a non merged pull request on zerome github.

FrameworkJS has been launched!

On ZeroNet, no need to recreate the same things for every new project you begin. Framework.js already comes with the basic libs and features ZeroNet needs.

It already includes the basic features expected from a web framework, plus more!
It includes, for reading: Headings, Paragraphs, Blockquotes, Badges, Images, Navbar, Logo
For forms: buttons, sticky buttons, inputs, text areas
For webpage/app: navbar/header, header menu, navmenu, scroller, footer
Other elements: Tiled lists, longcard lists
CSS classes: .full-size, .no-opacity, .color, .color-bg

For ZeroNet, FrameworkJS is the first usable framework, and the world's first click-to-clone web framework.
On FrameworkJS site, just click "Create your own zite", and it will redirect to your brand new project. You can also use FrameworkJS on your current project.
Zite owner can call JS to clone your own site or another site. Also, FrameworkJS is doing the begin of UltraApps with the detection of clearnet/zeronet, and supports ZeroNet dark theme. It also comes with the most useful ZeroNet libs
.

Framework isn't better, because ZeroNet didn't implemented yet the new features I suggested for site clonning.

FrameworkJS also includes Bootstrap and Material Design ready to use.

Use it on your project, and copy/paste the JS/CSS (except the custom ones) when a new version of Framework is launched.

@╲⎝⧹ⓜⓔⓢⓠⓤⓘⓣⓐ⧸⎠╱:

  • The ions are not displayed(it looks like a css file not being loaded somewhere)
  • The file and zeronet download buttons look really weird.

Not really a bug, but a security consideration:
On page load connections to clearnet are being made to:

  • plasnerd.github.io
  • img.shields.io

This exposes every user of the zite to the sites and leaks information to them(as example IP-addresses and referrer, that tells the site that zeronet has been used). Which is problematic since github is now microsoft and(as a platform) cannot be trusted anymore.
There are probably a few more things I overlooked since I don't know the structure of framework.js, but I highly recommend downloading the Tor Browser Bundle(clearnet) and debugging it code on there, too.

If you begin your ZeroNet zite with FrameworkJS, your project will automatically support dark/light themes.

Most needed basic features on KxoVid (evolution of KopyKate)

  • Use kxovid.bit as domain on content.json
  • Channel photo
  • Profile page and infos
  • Video thumbnails
  • Subscriber count, on channels and profile
  • List with most subscribed channels
  • Page with live subscriber count of a channel
Daniell Mesquita · daniell@zeroid.bit ― on Nov 04, 2018Reply

@Thunder:
when i say optional i meant like you can choose not to even try to download it from say X category(it can be enabled by default and user can overwrite it)

I agree, also Krixano is open to create a filter for the NSFW hub

Thunder · thunder33345@zeroid.bit ― on Nov 04, 2018Reply

@Daniell Mesquita: on the other side i agree that thumbnails are kind crucial to online video
when i say optional i meant like you can choose not to even try to download it from say X category(it can be enabled by default and user can overwrite it)

Daniell Mesquita · daniell@zeroid.bit ― on Nov 04, 2018Reply

@Thunder: YouTube and all other video site could think about suicide of disabling thumbnails because of NSFW, but it doesn't makes sense.
Regarding thumbnails as optional files, already suggested:
https://github.com/NetVisionOfficial/NetVision/issues/6

Optional files, downloaded when browsing videos, and deleted when out of this page and not seeding the video, and pinned when seed video

Thunder · thunder33345@zeroid.bit ― on Nov 04, 2018Reply

mostly NSFW
buttt one can argue the vid itself aslo can be nsfw
personally i vouch for: implementing thumbnails
BUT also allow me to disable them globally, or per category
and all thumbnails are optional files
i am not the dev so not much i can do anyways if krix chooses whatever they wanted

Daniell Mesquita · daniell@zeroid.bit ― on Nov 04, 2018Reply

@Thunder: What is the point of not supporting thumbnails? Because there are fake thumbnails?

Thunder · thunder33345@zeroid.bit ― on Nov 04, 2018Reply

@Daniell Mesquita: no i never did, i just said i dont think krix wanted thumbnails and show possible way to do it without thumbnails, but i still doubt so that he really wanted to support it(same reason with no custom BG in channel profile)

Daniell Mesquita · daniell@zeroid.bit ― on Nov 04, 2018Reply

@Jetten:
@Thunder
:

You says as KopyKate could not have thumbnails, but yes, KopyKate supports uploaded thumbnail

Thunder · thunder33345@zeroid.bit ― on Nov 03, 2018Reply

@Jetten: well yes you would still need to download the particle frame for the thumbnail which i still dont know if it's doable in js

Jetten · jetten@zeroid.bit ― on Nov 03, 2018Reply

The problem is how to generate the thumbnail from the video. It can't be done by the server (as there are no servers in Zeronet), and it is probably not practical to do it in the user's browser using Javascript either. These video sites rely on a competent uploader anyway, as you need to upload video that is optimized for the web (correct audio and video codec, appropriate bitrate and resolution in order to keep size down, with proper MOOV atom placement, etc)

Thunder · thunder33345@zeroid.bit ― on Nov 01, 2018Reply

i dont think krix shows they wanted to have custom thumbnail
BUT i think we can just allow author to set X frame of video as thumbnail
i dont really like the subscriber count we all know how easily they can be botted and eventually lose their meaning
same for scoreboard wise

Some days after I'd downloaded this site, now it is closed. Thanks @nofish:
I already said ZeroNet needs archiving system, a thing where IPFS is beating ZN.
Govs reached the zite owner thought Tor, and Nofish didn't wanted to implement i2P, that is better than Tor. @ZeroMux: said that Nofish is wrong and i2P isn't that hard thing to implement, then disapeared, like GetGames site.
Again, thanks, Tamas Kocsis, for not hearing me again

Nekololi · nekololi@zeroid.bit ― on Oct 31, 2018Reply

i will agree that i2p is superior. do we actually know that feds roughed him up and caused his zite to shut down? even if that is what happened, that doesn't seem sufficient to blame tor or zeronet insecurity for feds giving him the business. also when @nofish: implements i2p mode for zeronet he should make it easy to run ZN in tor + i2p mode simultaneously without clearnet because that sounds fun.

Sorry, Martin Luther King; but you're wrong about:
"Can't darkness be against darkness, but light, and we are light, the love wins"

When you love haters, you're spreading hate; you're feeding the haters to attack the love you're reverencing and giving to them.

Don't be confuse about people with fury: they aren't essentially bad people, but giving love you can calm them. But haters are not correctable, they born with hate and it haves no cure.

Jeremiah 14:14 Then the LORD said to me, “The prophets are prophesying lies in my name.

Luke 13:34 Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing.

Romans 11:3 LORD, they have killed your prophets and torn down your altars. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me, too.

Thanks to your hunting for blood, that has been written:
Psalm 74:9 We are given no signs from God; no prophets are left, and none of us knows how long this will be.

Matthew 34 Therefore, indeed, I send you prophets, wise men, and scribes: some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city,

Matthew 23:25 "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites!
30 And you say, 'If we had lived in the days of our ancestors, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.'

The good thing of Bible preachers like you is that you all shows that even atheists with a Bible can show that you are all Pharisees.

"Those same prophets will perish by sword and famine"
This is how the prophet Tiago was killed by perverse people like you, but as Bible says, Earth is not the place of the definitive justice; and you will all receive the justice against your convenient confusions, hates, justice-labeled injustices and murders.

If u have ever read the bible u must have noticed that many were killed by God when they insisted that they're prophets of God even though God had never granted them such a title.
Jesus told his disciples even not to be called a teacher. > Because teachers will be sentenced with a heavier penalty later in the heavenly court.

"If u have ever read the bible"
I'd read a lot, with discernment; instead of searching for things to use as weapon against people and to justify the own desires.

Daniell Mesquita · daniell@zeroid.bit ― on Oct 12, 2018⋮

Now I understand the point of dat:// protocol and its Beaker browser.
An P2P web protocol bundled into a browser is being made to beat ZeroNet.

Web is 2 step back, and DAT is 1 step back than ZeroNet, but dat:// will have incentive while ZeroNet will be persecuted.

DAT will be the sympathetic P2P version of the web, but also censorable. It is not worst than federated things, but not better than built-in anonymization of ZeroNet.

We need to consider that even ZeroNet is not anonymous, but is an already mature project, while dat:// came to make polarization on P2P niche.

@Daniell Mesquita: I have a different perspective. I don't think Nofish will implement what he doesn't understand enough. Anyway, the competing projects are what aren't getting praise from me. I need the wider platform support, ease of use, and fully distributed web design.

@Styromaniac: I'll not anymore appraise when ZeroNet receives a new update.

Styromaniac · styromaniac@zeroid.bit ― on Oct 15, 2018Reply

I can't find any care for most other P2P software that's anything like ZeroNet anyway. They're nowhere near the multiple platform support, usability, and utility of ZeroNet. Apparently file size is no longer an issue for me anymore on ZeroNet, so anything that's broken right now doesn't seem like a deal breaker anymore. And yeah, those APIs are wonderful for dynamic sites.

Daniell Mesquita · daniell@zeroid.bit ― on Oct 14, 2018Reply

@Bluishcoder: Other (DAT/IPFS) haves more usage because they are promoted, because they haven't built-in anonymous software.

Bluishcoder · bluishcoder@zeroid.bit ― on Oct 13, 2018Reply

I think ZeroNet wins out all the DAT/Beaker stuff at the moment due to the nice ZeroNet APIs. It's easy to build dynamic websites in ZeroNet. ZeroNet also has features for pseudo-anonymous identities and the ability to block/mute content you don't like. I think it'll be a while before DAT, IPFS, etc have these. Unfortunately ZN doesn't get the attention that the other networks do - maybe more usage will fix that over time.
