Zeronet is there in tons of languages, how would I go about translating it into mine?
I've done translations for some wikis a bit of Ubuntu and with five years living in England I think I'd be capable of doing it.
Any suggestions?

@HrnekBezucha: aha, to jsem něvěděl, že si i zerome vezme jazykové nastavení ze zerohello. jinak pokud chceš udělat překlad zerohello do ČJ, tak asi vytvořit nový soubor pod tím odkazem co jsem dal a repo admin by to měl schválit.

zeronet is an app, i do not see it beneficial to translate it as most users does not use command line parameters. zerohello page, zerotalk, zerome is owned by nofish zeronet developer his github: https://github.com/HelloZeroNet/ . Most meaningful translation would be of zerome and zerohello: https://github.com/HelloZeroNet/ZeroHello/tree/master/languages . A asi jsi cech (podle jmena) tak podivej na cz forum ;)

HrnekBezucha · hrnekbezucha@zeroid.biton Aug 16, 2016

Markdowns usually cannot handle tables properly and Zeronet markdown is no different.

So if anyone needs it, use monospace characters (four spaces on beginning of the line) and count spaces. Like this.

Examplary table
1x1 | 2x1 | 3x1
1x2 | 2x2 | 3x2
1x3 | 2x3 | 3x3

EDIT: Seems like there's a different markdown for ZeroMe and ZeroWiki.. interesting. Four spaces in Zerome is quote and Zerowiki is for monochrome.

Now this got me seriously thinking.
There are no server costs, domains are fairly cheap and website can be published even without one, are ads still legit in this environment? If not will the only way to pay for content with donations(patreon-like)? I know people making the internet in 80s couldn't imagine what happend to it within couple years. I was a part of several promissing things that failed and I really hope zeronet won't be one of them. I mean who uses ello? And what a boom it was back then. I don't even know if it still works.

I'm in the same boat wondering how companies will monetize ZeroNet sites, at least if it survives long enough for companies to notice it. There would have to be a way or else most likely people with any sort of intention to make any money would abandon the platform.

HrnekBezucha · hrnekbezucha@zeroid.biton Aug 13, 2016Reply

@Klaus Jónsson Zimmermann: It really looks like the old methods of making money on the web are not going to work with the new environment. Klaus Jónsson Zimmermann · klauszimmermann@zeroid.biton Aug 13, 2016Reply

Also keep in mind that advertisement is subjective. It can scale from in-your-face flyouts that prevent you from reading the page to simply stating "Drink ${famous_soft_drink_brand}!" at the bottom of every post.

Jayofthezero · jayofthezero@zeroid.biton Aug 13, 2016Reply

As things are now, Ads are basically impossible on Zeronet as it currently is, unless someone invents a new way to do them. Who knows how we'll monetize Zites.

HrnekBezucha · hrnekbezucha@zeroid.biton Aug 13, 2016

For fans of 90s rave and jungle, there are tons of digitalized tape recordings published on this site. But I have to say I don't know to what extent the copyrights go.

HrnekBezucha · hrnekbezucha@zeroid.biton Aug 13, 2016

I just wonder is it even possible to make some sort of streaming service like an ZeroNet radio or something alike? Since it's all p2p and nothing is stored while streaming.

Jayofthezero · jayofthezero@zeroid.biton Aug 15, 2016Reply

@HrnekBezucha: Decentralizing the bandwidth alone would be beneficial.

HrnekBezucha · hrnekbezucha@zeroid.biton Aug 13, 2016Reply

@tkarita: Well I can't really imagine an internet radio that would be decentralized.

tkarita · tkarita@zeroid.biton Aug 13, 2016Reply

ZeroNet has a lot of persistent data. A merger site could play content from its hubs. The content and player could also be stored on the same site. The webtorrent pages of ZeroMail 2.0 and NullFolder do something more P2P, but they won't stream well and their content goes away when the uploader closes their browser window.

HrnekBezucha · hrnekbezucha@zeroid.biton Aug 13, 2016
