ssdifnskdjfnsdjk@zeroid.bit commented on Blurhy's post: Interesting article. I was wondering about the progress creating decentralized zeronet search engine. For the time being we would have to rely on ZeroHello search and site searches like [one Kaffie introduced today](/1FEH3VjjKoDTXSpUA1G4xpB7WFnfQ48oVC)
SSDifnskdjfnsdjk commented on Kaffie's post: @Kaffie: for me it works, i just tried 0list search ([link](/1xiwbXaTbo9XU32hEpW4NyjZHrugSFdo6/?/zite/zerolist)) it asked me to Grant merger permission and in a few seconds displayed first results from the external site. btw. i am not a dev. so i can not answer your questions: - "Can you do regex searches on dbs" - "As for combining results, the problem is that there's no way to actually sort them. Not sure how I'd go about doing that." maybe @blurHY can
SSDifnskdjfnsdjk commented on Kaffie's post: yes, it can be handy if there is some SE that can search popular ZN sites like your demo search site. Only make it a bit more user friendly and possibly make it default to search all the supported sites in one search and differentiate various types of search results (video, audio or a site link). If there are too many results, user can click to eliminate for example video/audio results in one or two clicks and use operators like -excludethis -excludethat OR !notthis !notthat Btw. site seems to work with exact phrase, not separate words, so the results is limitted (which may be an advantage), though maybe if it returns no results, maybe i can click a button and it will search separate words of my phrase.. - [this](/1xiwbXaTbo9XU32hEpW4NyjZHrugSFdo6/?/) already has zerome search + 0list search, maybe considr migrating it to your SE..

ssdifnskdjfnsdjk@zeroid.bit commented on caryoscelus's post: it would be so nice if many figures, like a peer counts feature some legend (an info, questionmark icon, or a mouse hover menu) which would show how exactly (based on the ZN code) the figure is counted. But possibly it is not that easy. Maybe maintenance of such legend would be too difficult as code changes.

If you are interested, note the last line in the permissions section (on the bottom of the file. My aim is to blacklist all remaining self-signed IDs). If the linked file will not load for you, maybe it would be needed to a) wait until site is DLed or b) load site homepage :-/ Update: it seems i was able to post using new self signed ID, (my message was published to 2 peers). And it is said (i never tried) that any zeronet site private keys can be shared among multiple trusted people so they can act as a moderators. Disadvantage on current Millchan Engine is that one have to fist visit the hub site in order for it to appear on the main site in the list of the discussion boards.
SSDifnskdjfnsdjk commented on SadLoli's post: Hi, yes, anyone can use zeronet. Millchan has moderation which means that the board owner can hide certain users content from everyone (notice Blacklist link on the bottom of the boards/threads). unsure if board owner can give mod rights also to others and how it is done. Also the millchan site owner can moderate all content on his site. Suspending a laptop's state (“sleeping”) is also ineffective, even if the machine enters screen-lock on awakening, since an adversary could simply awaken the laptop, power-cycle it, and then extract its memory state. Suspending-to-disk (“hibernating”) may also be ineffective unless an externally-held secret is required to resume normal operations. **With most disk encryption systems, users can protect themselves by powering off the machine completely when it is not in use.**" so @ulrichard:, you were apparently correct. SSDifnskdjfnsdjk commented on SadLoli's post: @SadLoli: What's the difference between 'millchan' and 'millchan engine'? - go to Millchan, visit /dev board, then read first/pinned topic.. Millchan engine allow to spread optional files (images, videos) among multiple zeronet sites that are connected by the merging site (Millchan engine). Millchan Engine is utilising merger sites - using "merger" feature of the zeronet. You can sarch [ZeroHello](/) (Search in connected sites) or ZN docs or read [this explanation about various zeronet features](/1Kt7xxVRcxHcK14Mt7YZdXfh8MzUJMkvpk/misc/The.truth.about.ZeroNet/) to get more details. Note that it was talked earlier on zerotalk (or zerome?) that zeronet is not yet redy for large databases (hundreds of MB+ - @mg0: knows about that, he has large site here on ZN called Rex Research. I think good sites for alot of data is Millchan, Millchan Engine. Keep the db small, keep the required (not optional) file count small - is the key i think here on zeronet - at least until most of the people have fast and large NVMe drives and such. Btw. i would like to help you, but as mentioned, i am not a developer nor a coder.
SSDifnskdjfnsdjk commented on SadLoli's post: @SadLoli: yes, on Millchan are boards about loli, maybe you can find some people on it. I am not sure if it is not too much work to create useful decentralized fulltext search for the Zeronet, but if it can be done to be returning search results quickly, then maybe create some simple front-end site where it return raw results, which user can filter entering must include, must exclude words to quickly narrow results, + - operators and full phrases wrapped by quotation marks. SE maybe not need to be that much clever if it is too much work. = Regarding IPFS, maybe IPFS is more useful thing to work on than the search engine (do not know), but if IPFS will help chinese users to use zeronet, then certainly is more priority than the search engine.

Impact of porn is questionable, people have different opinion. Though i think that people should have the option not to see things that bother them (maybe demoralize them). So while porn lovers add porn in general (offtopic) sites without entitling it as a porn, there is my optional P0rnographyBl0cklist that may come handy for some. I wish zeronet add features which will allow better differentiate wanted/unwanted content on site like zerome and **@nofish: allow users to mute user only in particular site section (hide only from Everyone tab, but keep receiving notifications if user quote me or reply to mine followed post) or mute only on one site, not on whole zeronet (some users post good content on some sites and offending content on other)**

I mean to build more cars, open world, not just limitted number of tracks. I think important to buy upgrade called S2 to increase number of available tracks and people. I bought it and i think it is not wasted money.

Since the beginning of the year, all SIM cards in Austria have had to be registered with a photo ID.** .. yes we are heading to the point where government|corporations knows everything about us. Important for zeronet is to maintain its users identity anonymous. All these demands on internet site operators like content filtering, anti-terorist 1 hour takedown, identity verification can cause small forums to rather close and big platforms to stay = more centralization of "power", easier/faster for the things to go wrong.

On a computer i set to auto download all new site optional files and visited Millchan, now one out of two CPU threads is overloaded for one hour already and debug.log shows messages like:

@styromaniac@zeroid.bit:

I never knew why your dumb ass kept recommending Millchan to people.

Because Millchan currently is one of the most active(and content rich) zites on here. With chans(imageboards) being naturally pro freedom and heavily moderated on clearnet, it just kinda makes sense.

enjoy getting on a sex offender registry.

I assume you refer to the bug, that caused millchan to sometimes download images from blacklisted boards. This to the best of my knowledge should be fixed, if it still happens please report it to /dev/ so it can be fixed. But that aside the you actually are more at risk here on ZeroMe, since avatar images are currently downloaded automatically(required). It takes only one guy on some popular hub to upload CP as his avatar and everyone that has downloaded that hub will then seed that image.

SSDifnskdjfnsdjk · ssdifnskdjfnsdjk@zeroid.biton Apr 30, 2019Reply

millchan is one of the best CMS (content management system) out there and people have option to mute bad boards, which is not perfect, but at the end there is possibly no better system yet, because quite any community site can get offtopic spammed by violent content.

If it's not Millchan Engine, enjoy getting on a sex offender registry. I never knew why your dumb ass kept recommending Millchan to people.
