Where the time goes?

Damn... where is the time going? I need things to slow down to have a chance to make some progress on all my projects. Hopefully things will get more quiet as winter comes. Arm64, tor, openbsd... load on the list.

Bloody hell...time travelling is great fun.... but I've struggled a bit to come back here. But here I am back in 2018! So, what's going? Well I do have a few sexy projects in my head that will start being released this winter (Summer isn't my most productive season). But yeah I do plan to resume a bit of Zeronet blogging... So..stay tuned!

Netwave IP Camera

on Nov 08, 2017 ·

Quick demo on how to get into Netwave IP camera.
As for many internet of shit story it all starts on shodan.io
Search for: netwave country:"CH"
Don't ask me why the swiss...:o)

Here's one... you can try with the default login "admin" and no password.... nope doesn't work... never mind. Add "//proc/kcore" at the end of the address. ```

Here we are...you need 4~5MB of this (pretty much half of it) you should probably wget it rather than trying to download it through the browser.
Open it and search for the username admin, not far away you'll find the password in clear text.

ahahaha admin as a password for the admin account...not sure that's much better than keeping the default empty password...
cheeses.... anyway.. that's it... you've got the idea...
Of course you take the usual preventive measure to hide your real IP...and you clean the log...and you don't do nasty things!

On the 25th of October 2017, the EU officially signed the WIFI4EU Regulation, intended to promote Internet connectivity in local communities. By ignoring the open letter of the European open-Wifi community, this Regulation undermines the telecom ecosystem diversity. It dismisses the promotion of non-profit Internet Service Provider and enforces an authentication mechanism, forbidding what could have been free and open WiFi hotspots.

How to filter tor relays

on Oct 27, 2017 · 3 min read

I thought I would re-share quickly how to filter tor relay per country to specifically exclude some of them. Typically the unfriendly location (US, GB...) and how to specify some closer European exit only. Simply add these three lines to your torrc config file.

ExcludeNodes {us},{gb},{ie},{ru},{jp},{im},{il}
ExitNodes {fr},{ch},{de},{nl},{be},{cz},{ro},{is},{md},{pl},{ua}
StrictNodes 1

Your torrc config file should be in ~/TorBrowser-Data/Data/torrc if you're using the tor-browser or in /etc/tor/torrc if you're using the standard tor daemon.

What are you likely to find on this blog?

on Oct 27, 2017 ·

Well, since I am starting this from scratch I though you might want to know what you can expect to find posted here.

  • Personal comment and link to actualities that matters to me and make me react.
  • A weekly post called "Bookmark" where I will re-share some links on various article I end up reading that week and found interesting. Topics will always be around unix, opensource, infosec, BSD ... always a bit nerdy.
  • Some quick "Howto" which could be very short where I kind of re-share quick tips on a specific topic. Likely to be around OpenBSD and other piece of software or hardware I end up playing with.
    Feel free to comment at any time or to contact me directly.
    Take it easy.
