Streaming with IFPS

on Mar 08, 2016

All over the ZeroNet ppl are asking how can they stream files, audio and video... Every time I advice them to try IPFS... Every time they ignore me and continue asking. Dumb ppl. I'll just leave it here:

If you don't have IPFS, either GET ONE or click HERE to use a gateway!
(Gateway has some problem that I'm fixing now seem to be unable to fix)

Another way to share a video is to use http://127.0.0.1:43110/big.kopykate.bit

tmbo: Soo.. I also just streamed the video without IPFS... What happened?

You have used ipfs.io or ipfs.pics server. But it's a bad thing to do.

musickiller: more info: http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_video.asp

I always thought that people should use the video tag.

Can i share the video in my post? Is there any way to link my source to your video?

musickiller: Then you should give a link to the exact page that contains useful info. I did not give this whole blog to ZeroNet description and improvement ideas =D
Anyway, it's just an advice. Do as you think is right.

Good, then I will! ;)
You're right

musickiller: no, I meant "just tell ppl that they can stream files now and it's easier than saying borscht without accent" =D
roadmap... I'm not sure I need that. I don't post that much interesting stuff. The idea with IPFS just was too obvious not to try =D

Exactly what I will do, time to lurk around the chatrooms phew
Why not, the point of the roadmap is having a high quality index of sites for users and having the post in the proof of concept section just means that devs will see it and use it for their projects, because otherwise they'd probably miss it!

Maybe it's obvious, still helps a lot though!

musickiller: Did not really get you. =\ But I like the last part =D

Sorry, assumed that word had spread about the roadmap - seeing that I have quite the amount of peers for the page.

You can find your stuff here, should already be updated for you:

musickiller: could you all please share the info while I try to think straight enough to write the damn post? xD

Well, you go on the proof of concept part of the roadmap with this post and in the blogs section with your whole blog, so yes I will share it :D

musickiller: no. it should not work at all. But I found a way fix that. At least I think I did...2 ways. Nice and hardcore. My IPFS and ZeroNet are offline now. I'll announce when new tests are to be conducted.

Eh?
Excuse me, don't quite understand. Why exactly shouldn't it work?

musickiller: AND NOW IT"S STREAMING TO MY TABLET!!! AAAAAAAA!!!!!!!! AAa11 IT"S WESOME!!!!!

It definitely is awesome, though.

musickiller: it works???! yeappeee!*half of on hour struggle to figure out how to make it better is still to continue though

Yes, it does. It's unbearably slow right now (maybe due to my geological location?), but it works!
I am using IPFS locally, not the proxy, but that should work fine anyways - shouldn't it?

From your comment on TwisterP2P I assume it must be because my IPFS instance have the gateway running on port 5080, not 8080, that it doesn't work here.

The play button doesn't seem to work here. Or should I just wait for IPFS to sync? Is it using the local IPFS instance?
