I do not have one. I do enjoy perusing the content on there though.

@piloth Apparantly you have to change it in index.html as well...

So var walletBackgroundUrl = "wallets/" + janin.selectedCurrency.name.toLowerCase() + ".png";

to var walletBackgroundUrl = "wallets/template.png";

swastikaon Oct 05, 2018 ^2 ^3
Reply

@piloth Oh, and having a single wallet template is simple just pick one template you like, call it "template.png" or something, and change this line:

var walletBackgroundUrl = "wallets/" + janin.selectedCurrency.name.toLowerCase() + ".png";

To:

var walletBackgroundUrl = "wallets/template.png";

In:

src/ninja.paperwallet.js

Voila, you just cut 110MB of your site (after removing the redundant wallet templates and adding the smaller logos that is), also do not forget to remove the "optional" statement, since your site is <3MB now.

So yeah, the logos are 13MB (most of them have too great a resolution) and the wallet templates are 110MB. I just downloaded the application myself with the images so I couldn't check it before.

swastika: So keep the cryptocurrency icons for now, I think they're small enough, and make the wallets/ folder optional. Later you can add a generic wallet template for all cryptocurrencies.

I am a noob and sorry for the seemingly dumb questions... where do I put the optional part?

So they would only have to download the wallet PNG if they actually wanted to load it to print? Is that what that does?

You can also make the wallets/ folder optional by adding (to your content.json file):

"optional": "wallets/.*"

Which is a better idea, since then the user won't be forced to download all wallet template files (which are 200KB each)

I tried using a PNG compressor and it says it got the PNGs down as small as it could get them. What the hell; I'll make a clone and mess with it. Good thing about cloning is I don't have to break the main zite and I can play mad scientist all i want lol

swastika: Later you can add tiny icons for the cryptocurrencies. Maybe 16x16 or 32x32 pixel icons.

The wallets folder has the images for printing the paper wallets. I'd really hate to lose that feature. Logos no problem, but the paper wallet feature is integral I think. I might make a clone and get rid of the wallets folder and see how it functions and then if it doesn't break it then maybe translate that over to the main zite

swastika: @piloth The functionality of your site could be reduced to a 1.2MB uncompressed and less than 400KB compressed, using ZIP. The only thing you need is .html, .js, .json (for ZeroNet config), and .css (for styling)

I really don't know how to do that lol. If you could provide some guidance on it I'd be appreciative

EDIT: My client by default only downloads extensions that can be translated to the text/* mimetype (so .html, .txt etc.), .js and .json and your site works fine here.

I just thought it was neat to put on here. Your choice to use it or not. It's bascially just a copy of WalletGenerator.net. They provide a ZIP file download you can run on your own machine offline so I experimented and said "Let's try it on 0Net"
