Copying and pasting some Unicode emojis

EDIT: adding a few more I might conceivably use on my media share blog. All below work in both my browser and text editor except for Magnet (which I could really have used), Film Projector and Rolled-Up Newspaper.

Well, almost all of those work! Even if a couple (clapper board, and especially television) are not great against a dark background.

Here's a screenshot, because when it comes to emojis, what one is shown in one browser/program/operating system won't look the same on another.

post_8_sandbox.emojis.png (594x694)

In the text file, many of them appear as emojis but not all (e.g. film frames, camera with flash, studio microphone, pirate flag {partially}). And the same things happens (to the same emojis) when I copy & paste here on ZeroBlog. (Just realized, they seem to be the sames ones that don't show right on the webpage in my browser either.)

Unfortunately the emojis that fail are among the ones I'd probably most like to use to indicate media type I'm sharing on my "media share" blog.

Let's see when I try copying & pasting those straight from the webpage into this post:

  • Film frames, copied from Vivaldi where it doesn't show: ๐ŸŽž

  • Film frames, copied from Firefox where it does show: ๐ŸŽž

Same result for me: just an empty square both times. EDIT: when viewed in Vivaldi, they're both blank squares. But when viewed in Firefox, I see the film frames both times. And at the top of the page too.

In fact the other problematic ones (camera with flash, studio microphone, pirate flag) also work in Firefox.
